Mark O’Grady began as the Senior Commercial Officer assigned to the Asian Development Bank in June 2019 after serving in the headquarters parent office, the U.S. Advocacy Center and Multilateral Development Bank Liaison Operations where he managed the portfolios for India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and the Philippines. Prior to this, He served as Deputy Senior Commercial Officer (DSCO) at the US Embassy for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from 2015 to 2018. In that role, Mark he managed the three Commercial Office in Dhahran, Jeddah, and Riyadh and received a Bronze Medal for his service. In his third overseas assignment, Mark served three years (2012-2015) as the first Regional Commercial Officer for Southeast Asia and he received a Superior Honor Award during that service. Mark has had a multifaceted professional and academic history having worked in the fields of energy, environmental technology, technology commercialization and international trade for the Departments of Energy, Commerce, and Transportation. He holds a dual bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in international commerce from the University of New Mexico. He is married to another career diplomat and they have three children. Mark speaks Russian and continues to improve his Arabic.
